Ingredients:
5 ounces flour
½ c. Cream of tartar teaspoon
¼ c. Teaspoon baking powder
2 egg
1 ounce margarine
1 oz caster sugar
¼ pint of milk
* Sift flour, cream of tartar and baking soda in a bowl.
* Rub in margarine and sugar. Mix well.
* Make a well in flour and add egg and sour milk.
* Mix quickly to a thick paste. You do not beat the dough.
* Heat a greased pan or skillet for an electric oven.
* One tablespoon of the mixture of both the hot pan and cook until the bubbles rise and burst.
* Return to Cook and Brown on the other side.
* Once cooked, place the scones fell between a folded clean cloth to wipe off wet and warm.
* Serve warm scones with butter and jam drops served immediately.
Note: - A fallen muffin batter should be slightly lumpy and not smooth. After greasing the pan first, there is no need to re-lubricate. Greased on the scones are not smooth and evenly browned.
